After the long wait, the much anticipated Moto X Play is finally here in the Indian Market at an attractive price point. This device rocks a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset which is octa core processor running at a clock speed of 1.7 GHz. Coupled with it, we get the Adreno 405 GPU which will be able to handle demanding games easily. Since it is running the 615, we are worried about heating issues as this chipset is well known for that. Though Moto has a great past in tuning up their hardware for optimal performance.
In terms of RAM, we get 2 GB of DDR3 memory coupled with 16 GB or 32 GB of storage. The device features a beautiful 5.5 Inch 1080p AMOLED display which looks vibrant as well as crispy at 403 ppi. Along with that, The phone has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top of it. Pushing all those pixels is a large 3630 mAh battery for the phone to last at least one day.
In terms of camera, the device is rocking a 21 MP shooter at the back, which according to Motorola, is among the best in the industry. We also get a 5 MP selfie shooter at the front to impress the selfie freaks.
The device has 2 slots for SIM but one of them also works as a Micro SD card slot and therefore you need to choose between storage expansion or dual SIM. Using the Micro SD/SIM slot, you can increase your storage up to 128 Gigabytes. Both the sim slots support 4G LTE.
Out of the box, the Moto X Play comes with the latest version of Android, 5.1.1 Lollipop and overall it is a nice deal at the price point for which Motorola is offering and maybe is a tough competitor to the One Plus Two.
