How to install CM11 onto your Redmi 1S

CyanogenMod is one of the well known custom ROM’s out their in the android world. It is based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat but sadly it still not available official by the CM devs but Kra1o5, a well known dev has ported it unofficially for our Redmi 1S with the least bugs as possible!

Note :- The following ROM in the links below is the R3 (Release 3) ROM, I will update the links whenever a new release comes out.

So here we go!

Prerequisites :- (READ THIS FIRST)

  1. A rooted Redmi 1S (If you aren’t already rooted, check out our root tutorial HERE
  2. The TWRP recovery (If you don’t already have it, check out our TWRP installation tutorial HERE
  3. The ROM itself, download it HERE
  4. The GAPPS file, download it HERE

Installation Procedure :-

Step 1. Copy the files you download it earlier and paste them in the root of your internal storage.

Step 2. Boot into the recovery mode by pressing the volume up and power button together. (Leave the buttons when you see the MI logo)

Optional Step. Go to Backup and swipe to backup your current ROM (This is in-case something goes wrong)

Step 3. Go to wipe and swipe to do a factory reset.

Step 4. Go to install, select the ROM we download earlier (cm-11-20140920-UNOFFICIAL-armani) and swipe to flash it.

Step 5. Go back to install, select the GAPPS file you downloaded earlier (gapps-kk-20140105-signed) and swipe to confirm flash.
